Ambassadors Diet Headlines

Saturday Daily Devotional By Pastor David Okoye (Ambassadors Diet 10th September, 2016) – A Humble Spirit

Share this story:

“But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud but giveth grace to the humble” James 4:6

One of the things God hates and is an abomination to him according to
Proverbs 6:17, is a proud look.

Many persons in their lives have
developed pride within them both consciously and unconsciously, and as
situations show up, they display the traits of pride.

As you walk in the
kingdom and house of God expecting the Lord to increase you from where
you are and promote you in the things that you are doing, this is
something you have got to take note of: REFUSE PRIDE.

Never be too big
to serve or to even say “I’m sorry”, “please” or “thank you” Most
persons because of what they have achieved in life, the way they look or
even the offices they occupy in church, they begin to think more highly
of themselves than they ought to. Let this not be you.

Every man
God has ever used all had something in common, they were men of uncommon
humility. Look at Moses; he was the meekest in his time, David,
Abraham, Joshua and even Jesus.

Being humble does not make you lesser
than you are, it makes you higher. A proud man regards himself higher
than where he is or higher than those around him.

Philippians 2:6-11
shows us an example of humility in Jesus. Humility and pride is a thing
of the heart but is portrayed in our actions and attitude.

Don’t just
focus on getting rid of pride; focus on building humility within you for
through humility, God will set you in a place where your background,
achievement, connections or look can’t place you.

DECLARATION
Lord I receive the spirit of humility and I walk in it. I refuse to display a lofty heart in all that I do.

SCRIPTURAL REFERENCE
1 Peter 5: 15-16
