Wednesday Daily Devotional By Pastor David Okoye (Ambaasadors Diet 23rd November 2016) – The Fight Of Faith

So many Christians believe that their only battle in life is sin. These set of persons are the ones who would say, “I know that this situation I am in is because of my sins. God is the one punishing me because of my sins.” They are the same persons who would spend hours crying to God and pleading for the forgiveness of sin.

This is a mentality inspired by the devil. God is not a man; He cannot pay evil for evil. You need to get accustomed to the design of God.

You see, God has put in man something extraordinary, which is His Spirit that He birthed in us. By reason of the death and resurrection of Christ, God’s Spirit got birthed in us. Anyone who then receives Jesus receives eternal life (that is, receives the God-class of life, the Zoe).

Jesus became sin for us.

Little wonder, 2 Corinthians 5:21 says, “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” What a great truth!

Jesus took up the sins of the whole world (past, present and future) and it was nailed to the Cross. He became the embodiment of sin and brought us into a new life. The issue of sin was a done deal on the cross of Calvary. When Christ said on the cross “It is finished”, He meant it.

The day you give your life to the Lord, you automatically get drafted into His army. 1 Timothy 6:12 says, “Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.” We are to fight the good fight of faith. Fighting the good fight of faith means fighting the good fight of victory. 

Your faith is your victory. 1 John 5:4 says, “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.” Jesus has gotten the victory; we are just here to maintain it.

A Christian who still chooses to fight a battle that has already been won is simply negotiating his victory with the devil.

Your victory is not a gamble; it was guaranteed through Jesus. 2 Corinthians 2:14 says “Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.” You are Christ’s trophy.

A trophy is the evidence of a victory: you are the evidence of Christ’s victory.

DECLARATION
I am victorious on every side. Sin has no dominion in my life. I fight the good fight of faith; I am a trophy of Christ’s victory.
