Wednesday daily devotional by Pastor David Okoye (Ambassadors Diet, 26th July, 2017) – Be wise

“The fruit of the [uncompromisingly] righteous is a tree of life, and he who is wise captures human lives [for God, as a fisher of men—he gathers and receives them for eternity].” Proverbs 11:30 (AMP)

Scripture tells that “…skillful and godly Wisdom is the principal thing” (Proverbs 4:6, AMP). Without wisdom you can virtually attain nothing in life – in the same capacity, it also takes the wisdom of God to win a soul. Colossians 1:18 admonishes that we warn and teach every man, so that we can bring these persons up to maturity. ‘Every man’ connotes a multitude of persons with different beliefs and attitudes. Therefore, in other to capture these different people into the same purpose and lifestyle, wisdom needs to be applied.

1 Corinthians 1:30 brings to our knowledge that Christ “…is made unto us wisdom…” and “…in Him are hid all treasures of wisdom…” (Colossians 2:3); and Christ is the word of God.

This means that you can’t be termed wise if you don’t have the Word of God in you: which also equates to you being incapable of winning souls without the Word of God.

The Spirit of God activates the Word of God in you and gives you wisdom / insight / strategies on how to win and maintain your souls irrespective of their diverse personalities.

As a missionary you have got to be resistant to pressure, immovable and firm. God isn’t trying to kill you but is bringing out the best in you.

This is why you can’t be struck out or destroyed.

A soldier of God’s army is never without solution (2 Corinthians 4:8-9, MSG) neither is he deserted to stand alone.

It will be tough but if you build in this mindset, be rest assured that no challenge can keep you from accomplishing your mission.

There isn’t a soul that can’t be won. Every man can be received into eternity – all it takes the right application of God’s wisdom. Be wise!
