Friday daily devotional by Pastor David Okoye (Ambassadors Diet, 28th July, 2017) – Grow your faith

Share this story:

“For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, the just shall live by faith” Romans 1:17

We live in a time where Faith in God is easily accessible; we have prophets, evangelists, pastors and even teachers to learn from and to help build our faith but this wasn’t the case with Abraham.

Abraham lived in a time when the knowledge of God was not easily accessible, no one knew of God the way we know of him now but he was not just asked to place his Faith on a God he didn’t know in trust for a Son of promise from his barren wife, but he was also asked to sacrifice the son he loved (Gen 22:2); the one through which the promises of God would come to fruition. Abraham was so convinced of the Lord that he never doubted or hated God for it but instead he accepted and believed that God had the power to raise him from the dead.

Hebrews 11:18-19 tells:

“…..Of whom it was said, that in Isaac shall thy seed be called: accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure.”

What Faith!

Even when Isaac asked his father of the lamb to be sacrificed, Abraham replied in faith “the Lord will provide himself a lamb” (Genesis 22:7-8).

Our opening scripture tells that the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; meaning that your faith has got to move from one level to another and not be constant.

Constant hearing and hearkening to the voice of God just as Abraham is all you need to grow your faith, as faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.

Choose to grow your faith today by giving yourself to the Word of God.

My faith in God is built up as I give myself to the word of God daily. I trust in, believe and totally rely on the word of God today and always. Amen.
