“How well God must like you – you don’t hang out at Sin Saloon, you don’t slink along Dead-End Road, you don’t go to Smart–Mouth College.” Psalm 1:1 (MSG)

It might be surprising to note that we have such Christians as this in the world today: in terms of outlook and disposition, they are not “ungodly or sinners or scornful”, but one way or the other, their immediate environment depicts sin and ungodliness.

They are Christians but they ‘hang out’ at the wrong places, with the wrong people, take advice from unbelievers and many a times engage themselves in foolish talking. This should not be seen or heard of a Godchild.

The word ‘slink’ in the text above implies a smooth, quiet movement.

Every Christian must understand that the issue isn’t that “you passed by quietly” rather it is that “you did not pass unnoticed” and “you also noticed something”.

The irony of the whole thing is that many Christians slink along sin pathways not knowing it’s a Dead End Road.

The KJV rendering of our text goes thus;

“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.”

You are considered blessed when you do not “walk, stand or sit” in the pathway of sinners. Evil communication corrupts good manners (1Cor 15:33).

The more you ‘hang out’ at their ‘salon’, the more you will become like them – and you wouldn’t even know when the change in you started occurring.

Choose not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers.

You have been called to a special class of life – a life that is founded on the Word of God. Transact with God’s Word daily – it’s your key to standing out in life.

DECLARATION:
My delight is in God’s Word. I exhibit the God-life in every facet of life. I do not fellowship with the children of the dark.
