“Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ; Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart” Ephesians 6:5-6

Scripture tells us in Hebrews 10:25,

“Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching”.

For the Bible to tell us not to forsake the assembling of ourselves together, it indicates that there is something beneficial to be acquired in those gatherings. For every corporate gathering there is a corporate blessing.

One thing worthy of note is that for every time we go for services we go to get serviced. A lot of Christians believe that they are doing God or their pastors a favour by coming to church. It is impossible to come into God’s house and leave the same way you came. There is always a rub off either form the Holy Ghost or from other believers.

The same way we take our cars and machineries for servicing and they return better and more efficient; for every time we go to services we come back serviced, polished and strengthened.

As Christians, we are to offer selfless service.

God delights in selfless service. Ephesians 6:7 (NIV) says,

“Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not men…”

A selfless service is a service where self does not show up at all.

There are two traits that are particular with selfless service: willingness and obedience. These two go hand-in-hand.

Your willingness will determine your level of obedience.

Willingness is synonymous with readiness and enthusiasm. Willingness entails serving with eagerness. Without willingness, obedience cannot be attained.

In serving right, you ought to serve with joy. Take joy in offering service to God. Learn to be obedient and submissive in your service to God.

DECLARATION:
I serve with the right heart and with an understanding. I am willing and obedient. I do not neglect the gathering of the saints.
