“For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same [is] a perfect man, [and] able also to bridle the whole body.” James 3:2

The world we live in was created by the Word of God. The power of God is in His Word. As such, everything on earth is subject to the Word of God.

Through our opening text, we see that a perfect man is seen not by His deeds but by his words. If nothing on earth gets you, your words will.

Proverbs 18:20-21 says,

“A man’s belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; [and] with the increase of his lips shall he be filled. Death and life [are] in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”

Your satisfaction in life comes by how well you have used your tongue.

When you use your tongue rightly, by engaging it with God’s Word, you would end up being satisfied.

Words are Spirits.

When you speak words, you create Spirits that move out for the purpose which you said. Your words shape your life; that is, the words you speak either give your life a form or it makes it irregular. This is why as Sons of God, you should be careful of the words you speak.

You ought not to speak based on emotions but in accordance to the Word of God. You shouldn’t just say what you feel or what you see; you should talk what you believe based on the Word of God.

Take the 12 spies as a case study. Joshua and Caleb were the only ones that came with a good report. The Bible refers to the account of the other 10 spies as an evil report. They all saw the same thing; but Joshua and Caleb didn’t voice out that which they saw, they spoke what they believed in accordance to the Word of God.

You can never live beyond your words. The much you are in life is dependent on how much of God’s Word you have engaged your tongue with.

Before the doing would occur, a saying must happen. In other words, there would be no action until words are spoken.

Learn to start using your tongue rightly. Don’t talk anyhow; talk the truth. The truth is the Word of God.

DECLARATION:
I use my tongue wisely. I speak the right things at all times. I engage my tongue with God’s Word. I TALK THE TRUTH!
