“Blessed [is] the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight [is] in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.” Psalm 1:1-2

When you delight in something, you would derive happiness, pleasure, glee and amusement from spending time with it. In fact, you would want to spend more time with whatever it is.

Little wonder our opening text tells us that this man has his delight in the Word, and as such, he spends his day and night meditating and getting to know more about the Word.

If you would live a successful life here on earth, your delight has got to be in the Word.

Joshua 1:8 says,

“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”

The MSG rendering says,

“And don’t for a minute let this Book of The Revelation be out of mind. Ponder and meditate on it day and night, making sure you practice everything written in it. Then you’ll get where you’re going; then you’ll succeed.”

God is a patterned God. He has structures in place that have got to be strictly adhered to in order to derive their benefit(s).

The above text shows us that God does not make a man prosperous. If He does, the unbelievers should be the poorest on earth. God has placed your prosperity in your hands as a product of your relationship with His Word.

If the Word of God can dwell in you richly, your prosperity is sure.

Every man has a longing and a craving to be successful. The Spirit of God cannot effect the success that has been given if you do not have the Word.

A lot of Christians desire success but they expect God to work it all out for them. As your relationship with the Word grows, your prosperity increases. Ponder and meditate on the Word; thrill to it, let it be your delight.

DECLARATION:
The Word of God is my delight. My relationship with God and His Word grows daily. I am prosperous!
