“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” John 10:10

The word abundance means plenty, profusion and great quantity. When scriptures say more abundantly, it means unending, limitless and immeasurable.

Christ’s crucifixion ushered us into a new life; an abundant, overflowing and divine life.

The AMP rendering of our opening text says,

“The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).”

God doesn’t want you to be a ‘Lazarus Christian’. He does not want you to suffer here on earth, and then later make it to heaven. He wants you to reign here on earth and also in heaven. He wants you to enjoy life. Glory!

It is God’s utmost desire that we live this life to the fullest.

As Christians, you have access to greater blessings and privileges than anyone else as a result of this abundant life. This life comes with abundance of grace, peace, love, and all good things of life.

God doesn’t want you to live a mere simple life; He wants you to live a life of eminent blessing and joy.

The abundant life is an eternal life.

The MSG rendering of the above text says,

“A thief is only there to steal and kill and destroy. I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of.”

A lot of Christians have armed themselves with a hell inspired mentality. God doesn’t want you to live the eternal life in heaven; you are to start living the eternal life here on earth and then in heaven.

Christ has made all things available for anyone who has received this life. Everything Jesus did while He was on earth experienced abundance. The life we have received by reason of the finished work of Christ is not a life of lack or unproductivity. It is an eternal and abundant life. The abundance of this life cuts across every facet of your life (your finances, health, education, etc.)

Start living this abundant life today.

I live and walk in abundance this season. Everything
around me depicts productivity. I am not a Lazarus Christian, I’m a King!
