Ambassadors Word Diet

O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. Matthew 12:34

I love how the MSG rendering puts our opening text; it says,

You have minds like a snake pit! How do you suppose what you say is worth anything when you are so foul-minded? It’s your heart, not the dictionary, that gives meaning to your words.

The words you speak are extremely important. What kind of words come out from your mouth? Have you armed your tongue with curses and all sort of improper words? Or have you armed your tongue with the Word of God?

A man can never live beyond his words. If all you speak is failure, frustration, disappointment, regret and unproductivity, your life would be so full of them.

Scripture says in Proverbs 18:20-21,

“A man’s belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; [and] with the increase of his lips shall he be filled. Death and life [are] in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”

The words you speak would determine the pace and direction of your life. James 3:4 says,

“Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth.”

Scripture likens your tongue to a helm. A helm could be called the steering wheel of a ship. As little as the helm is, it determines the direction of the entire ship. As little and as insignificant the words you speak might seem, it has the ability to direct your entire life.

This is why you should always speak rightly. Don’t say things just because you want to say them. If it has no foundation in God’s Word; it is wrong.

Your words ought to be consistent with the Word of God. Speak the truth at all times. The truth is the Word of God; therefore, anything outside the confines of the Word is a lie.

Your words would either set you on course, or take you off course.

DECLARATION:
I do not speak based on my emotions; I speak based on the Word of God. My words are life to all around me. I speak rightly.
