wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure; for if ye do these things, ye shall never fail. 2 Peter 1:10

When a man gives his life to the Lord, he needs to understand that he isn’t just born anew, but he is also called and elected of God.

That man needs to understand that despite his past and background, God still calls him to an entirely new and different way of life.

Your calling is not in the same direction with others, meaning that, your path is completely opposite and against that of the normal man or the casual Christian.

Sadly, a lot of God’s children are yet to understand this. Some still disbelieve that they can ever be chosen and used of God. While others who have gone beyond this level of thinking, do not yet know the reason for which they’ve been called.

Oh! If the Godchild could only see the heart of the Father. Ephesians 1:18 says

The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of His calling…

It is impossible for The Lord to have called you for nothing. There is a hope (a confident expectation) of his calling, and like our opening text tells us, the focus is on us to make that calling and election sure.

We’ve not just been called to make it to heaven, but to reconcile men to God. We’ve been called to effectively display the God-life here on the earth.

so friends, confirm God’s invitation to you, his choice is you. Don’t put it off; do it now. Do this, and you’ll have your life on a firm footing. 2 Peter 1:10 (MSG)

DECLARATION:
I shall be counted of God, as worthy of this calling. Everyday of my life, I give diligence to make my calling and election sure.
