That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. 1 John 1:3

A Christian, who has bartered his Christian devotion for Christian service, is likened to that man who has a home, yet sleeps underneath a bridge. No amount of service can ever justify your lack of devotion to God.

You see, God is a balanced God. Proverbs 16:11 tells us,

A just weight and balance are the LORD’S: all the weights of the bag are his work.

Do you know that the sustenance of your Christian life is dependent on your devotion to God, and not your service? Your devotion might be at ground zero, but your service would be unaffected.

Take Samson as a case study. Scripture tells us, that Samson did great things for the Lord. This was his service to God. But you would realize that amidst these great things he did for God, he kept committing fornication; he kept sleeping with harlots. His devotion to God was naught, but his service was unaffected.

You see, the importance of having fellowship with God cannot be overemphasized. Devotion offers God’s presence to you.

Just like a product functions best in the hands of its manufacturer, the human Spirit functions best in the presence of God.

In other words, your devotion with God brings out the best of you. Fellowshipping with God is the key to spiritual sustenance and spiritual growth. Without a consistent devotion to God, your growth in the things of God would be diminutive and stunted.

Your ability to live victoriously in life is tied to your devotion to God. It is the secret to hearing from God and obtaining directions for life. Without it, you lose direction and focus.

Living an organized, coordinated, and effective life is also a product of having unswerving fellowship with God. Without regular devotion, you would become carnally minded, and you would also lack the power to overcome and live above sin.

Your prayer life, as well as your faith, would become weak without devotion with God. It takes discipline to have an effective and consistent devotion to God. The question is, ARE YOU DISCIPLINED ENOUGH?

God is already seated at the table, waiting patiently for you. Go; join Him, and have a swell time together.

Your devotion is everything!

DECLARATION:
I live the victorious life! I obtain directions for life every single day, as I spend time fellowshipping with you, God. I am disciplined!
