Wednesday daily devotional by Pastor David Okoye (Ambassadors Word Diet, 8th NOV, 2017) – Quit being emotional with God

I get so disappointed when I hear Christians say, ‘After all the tears I wept, God still didn’t answer my prayers”. Don’t be the type of Christian that says this.

Go through the scriptures; you’ll notice something particular with all the people God did something through and for. GOD IS NOT MOVED BY EMOTIONS!

Humans may be moved by it, but for God, never! A Christian that decides that his relationship with God is dependent on his emotions is in for doom. This may be hard to swallow, but it is the truth; your tears are meaningless to God.

The only thing God is moved and responds to is your faith.

If you do not learn to act in faith, you would not be able to get anything in and from God. God doesn’t understand your situations; what He understands is your faith.

Let’s take Abraham as a case study. God knew Sarah was in need of a child. Can you imagine how hard she must have cried over being childless? That didn’t make God give her a child. It was the faith of her husband that made God respond to her and her situation.

What about Hannah, the mother of Prophet Samuel? A lot of Christians have been made to believe that it was her tears that made God answer her prayer; No! It was her faith in God that was made evident through her confessions and actions.

1 Samuel 1:11, 18 say respectively,

And she vowed a vow, and said, O LORD of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, and not forget thine handmaid, but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto the LORD all the days of his life, and there shall no razor come upon his head; 

And she said, Let thine handmaid find grace in thy sight. So the woman went her way, and did eat, and her countenance was no more sad.

Your faith is everything; it is your only means of transacting with heaven. If you would enjoy the fullness of God’s love, you have got to respond in faith.

Your victory in life is tied to your level of faith. Until you learn to start acting and responding in faith, you would not revel in victory.

Your power in life lies in your response to faith; not in your tears or worry. Your faith would motion you in the direction of God.

Dry up those eyes; crying doesn’t solve a thing! Quit being emotional with God; start responding in faith. Babes cry, sons, make moves.

DECLARATION:
I operate in faith; therefore, I live the victorious life. I enjoy the fullness of God’s love.
