Wednesday daily devotional by Pastor David Okoye (Ambassadors Word Diet, 15th NOV, 2017) – Take up the call

And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation 2 Corinthians 5:18

The proceeding verse of our opening text says,

To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.

Christianity is more than a name, a title, or a religion. It is a calling; a special calling from God. Through the above verses, we see that as many that take up the identity of a Christian, they receive the ministry of reconciliation.

This means that everyone that identifies themselves as a Christian, has been made a missionary here on earth by God.

The word of reconciliation isn’t given to a selected few, but to all New Creations; those who have identified themselves with and in Christ. This is why you must take up the call of Christians. You cannot be a church ‘customer’.

God is not in search of people that would occupy seats in a worship center or those who only pick up their Bibles on Sunday. He has no business with the CIA Christians (Secret Agent Christians) or the part-time Christians.

God is in search of those who would do everything possible to ensure they fulfill their calling. There are lives hanging around your neck.

There are millions of people that need this Gospel we have. Their life here on earth and their eternity in heaven are dependent on you taking up the call to reconcile men to God.

God is not a secret to be kept; He is not a diary entry. He is like that billboard that needs to be displayed for all to see.

You are to go viral and public with God, and the message of salvation. You have been charged with the responsibility of publicizing God to all the earth. Make your stand about God vocal. If you are not vocal about the Good News; that is, if you don’t tell the world about God, and the new creation life, the world would sell to you their own message.

You see, the world is covered with darkness. The only way we can get rid of darkness is by introducing light. You are the light of the world; as such, you are to lighten up the dark. It is your duty to purge out every atom of darkness.

Wake up to the realization that there is a call on you to reconcile men back to God.

DECLARATION:
I’m a missionary here on earth! I take up my calling as a Christian, and I fulfill it. I live as the light; therefore, darkness has no habitation around me.
