Then this Daniel was preferred above the president’s and princes because an excellent spirit was in him; the king thought to set him over the whole realm. Daniel 6:3

Excellence is a spirit. Good spirits do not possess or control you by force but by choice. They observe over and over your character and the consistency of it.

Your character must be compatible with the character of excellence for you to get the spirit of excellence.

Every leader needs to study the life of Daniel. Daniel was so excellent that even his enemies could not deny his excellence. Have you met people like that? Love them, or hate them, you cannot deny that they are the very best at what they do.

They are indispensable wherever they are. Just as the king recognised that Daniel had an excellent spirit and sight to set him over the whole realm; excellence distinguishes the best from the rest.

There is a saying that no matter the size of the bottle, the cream always rises to the top. Excellence stands you out from the crowd.

A lot of God’s children are so speaking that they are now more spiritual than God. Know that excellence is not gotten by prayers or fasting, or even studying the Word of God. The Word gives you wisdom, your character gives you excellence.

A man that does not believe in the Lord can be excellent in what he does; this tells you that excellence is not a function of the Holy Ghost.

The spirit of excellence works best with the spirit of God in you. The choices you be, at every time till eventually determine what you become.

In your place of leadership, how excellent are you? Do you take out time and plan for the progress of what is in your hands? What are your aspirations and what will it take to get there? And most importantly, what are you doing to get there?

I have an excellent spirit. I am diligent she responsible. I refuse procrastination. I am an exemplary leader. Hallelujah!
