Monday daily devotional by Pastor David Okoye (Ambassadors Word Diet, 29th JAN. 2018) – The Process Of Success (4)

Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. 3 John 1:2

This week, we have been seeing through the Word of God different ingredients necessary to succeed in life. Today we would be ending this series with a recap of what we have learnt through the Word of God, and two other vital ingredients for success. We saw that it is God’s heart desire for us to be successful.

He wants you to have that good success Joshua 1:8 talks about. Understand this; God would never allow you to cheat or exploit others as a means of becoming prosperous. He wants the root and foundation of your success to be His Word. That good success would only be experienced by those whose prosperity has its source in Christ.

If whatever you do does not have its origin in Christ, then you can’t get good success out of it. If you would get to that end point of success, you must go through the process of success. God wouldn’t pour down dollar bills on you to bless you; He would do so through the works of your hands.

Two very important qualities that you must possess in the process of success is diligence and consistency. Proverbs 10:4 says,

He becometh poor that walketh with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.

Never would you hear a success story that was possible without the application of diligence. When a man deals with a slack hand, it means he deals with laxity, negligence, and remiss.

The AMP rendering of Proverbs 22:29 says,

Do you see a man diligent and skillful in his business? He will stand before kings; he will not stand before obscure men. 

Obscure men are men of no repute. When a man inculcates diligence in what he does, preference and honour would automatically be given to him.

Success is a product of industry. Those who would not toil for it would surely remain poor. Diligence teaches a man how to utilize his resources. It propels you to engage in whatever you do skillfully. Another very important ingredient is consistency.

Consistency is synonymous to steadiness. It entails that you remain steady in your ideas and visions even if the method changes. As you set goals to achieve this New Year, be sure to be consistent with them. Consistency would amount to a larger fraction of your success in life.


DECLARATION
I am diligent and consistent in whatever I find myself doing this year. I do not give the devil an edge over me; I am a sure success!
