Sunday daily devotional by Pastor David Okoye (Ambassadors Word Diet, 25th FEB. 2018) – A righteous life (2)

For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own
righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. Romans 10:3

Romans 8:1 says The “[There is] therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit”

The AMP rendering puts it thus,

THEREFORE, [there is] now no condemnation (no adjudging guilty of wrong) for those who are in Christ Jesus, who live [and] walk not after the dictates of the flesh, but after the dictates of the Spirit.

Condemnation is sin consciousness. It is stronger than sin itself. Condemnation is a cage that keeps a man bound. When it rules a man, that man is in for doom.

There is a sin-consciousness transferred to every natural man and only the gift of righteousness can
destroy that sin consciousness. Condemnation would function in a man that does not maximize the gift of righteousness.

When you underuse the gift of righteousness, condemnation will affect you. Jesus did not sin once because sin-consciousness could not function in him. Everything He did was righteousness personified.

Nothing can override the righteousness of God. It has no limits. The righteousness of a man has its limits, but that of God can never be pushed to the wall.

The gift of righteousness is a gift that is used all your life time. It expires when you get to heaven. The only way to use the gift of righteousness is with your mouth.

Romans 10:10 (AMP) says,

For with the heart a person believes (adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Christ) and so is justified (declared righteous, acceptable to God), and with the mouth he confesses (declares openly and speaks out freely his faith) and confirms [his] salvation. 

With your heart, you receive the gift of righteousness but with your mouth, you use it. You activate the gift of righteousness by confessing the righteousness

DECLARATION
Sin-consciousness does not function in me. I am the righteousness of God in Christ. I live a righteous life . I reign in life because I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus!
