Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people Proverbs 14:34

Today, we’ll be looking at a very familiar subject; SIN. The subject of sin is one that Christians all around the world are pretty familiar with.

But, I have come to realize that although all Christians are aware of it, most fail to understand its dangers, and how it could hinder a man from receiving God’s blessings.

Our opening scripture shows us that where sin is, there is a reproach. That means you can be a Christian, but a cursed Christian if you live in sin.

There would automatically be an obstruction between a man and the blessings God has packaged for him if he chooses to live in sin. You see, nothing can make God ever behold iniquity. Not even grace can.

Understanding the dangers of sin is very important for every Godchild, as it would help to ensure the devil doesn’t have any advantage over the believer. There are two terms that we must always make
reference of, whenever we discuss the subject of sin. They are the root of sin and the fruits of sin. The root of sin is the nature of sin.

The fruits of sin are the acts of sin.

The root of sin was dealt with when Jesus died on the cross. 2 Corinthians 5:21 says,

For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Jesus became sin so that He can destroy sin in the flesh, and that we may be free from the dominion of sin. There are several Christians that have a different aspect of their lives that doesn’t work out the way God wants it to.

It becomes a challenge to these ones because they see themselves experiencing what Apostle Paul talks about in Romans 7:5,

For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death.

This scripture is what we use to emphasize something called the Fifth Column.

This Fifth Column is something the devil uses for every human being. The truth to this is that your
emotions many a times control your motion.

We refer to every man’s emotions as His fifth column; the little entrance the devil has; the battle from within. Check the scriptures; you’ll see that most of the persons God made use of eventually crumbled as a result of their emotions.

DECLARATION
Lord, my whole life is void of sin. I do not give the devil an advantage over me. I am lord over my emotions.
