…For every one that useth milk is unskillfull in the word of righteousness for he is a babe… Hebrews 5:13
The AMP rendering of our opening text puts it thus “for everyone who continues to feed on milk is obviously inexperienced and unskilled in the doctrine of righteousness (of conformity to the divine will in purpose, thought, and action), for he is a mere infant [not able to talk yet]!” Skill means to the capacity to do something well; technique and ability.

Skills are usually acquired or learned as opposed to the ability which is often thought of as innate.
It refers to having personal or practical knowledge’ to be versed or experienced, to be an expert or dexterous. It is intricate for the God-child to be skillful in the Word of righteousness.
The JUB translation simply says
For anyone that uses milk is not qualified in the Word of righteousness, for he is a babe.
You see, your skill qualifies and justifies you. When a man is not skilled for a particular job, he is not qualified for it.
As the new creation, you’ve been called into a life of service to God for He has made you a king and a priest to Himself. In kingship and priesthood, skill is a necessity.
As a matter of fact, a king is required to be skillful in almost all things for effective leadership; to have vast knowledge and the ability to proffer solution to any and all problems his country might have.

Scripture tells us about David
He chose David also His servant, and took him from the sheepfolds: from following the ewes great with young, He brought him to feed Jacob his people and Israel His inheritance. So he fed them according to the integrity of his heart; and guided them by the skillfulness of his hands
DECLARATION
I refuse to be unskilled in handling the Word of life. I will bring out time to study and practice your Word.
