Unto you therefore which believe he is precious… 1 Peter 2:7

The Amplified rendering of our opening text says,

To you who believe (who adhere to, trust in, and rely on Him) is the preciousness…

The NASB rendering says,

This precious value, then, is for you who believe

There is preciousness to the Word of God. There is a precious value the Word of God delivers to you as you believe, trust and adhere to Him.

In Luke 2, Scriptures tell us about a man named Simeon.

And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him. And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord’s Christ. Verses 25-26

This man waited on the prophecy and promise of God to his people to see it manifested. So much so, that God couldn’t let him die without seeing the fulfillment of the promise he waited on.

It is important to note that this man was a Jew, of the same nation Jesus wept over, saying,

If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! But now they are hid from thine eyes. Luke 19:42

Did you note that the Lord Jesus called it their day; meaning that this was God’s set time for them. But they missed out. Why?

…because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation. (44).

How come this man was different? How come an entire nation missed out on the timing of God, but one man stood out? You see, this man knew as the Word was spoken several years ago, that once God speaks it, it must surely come to pass. For so many of God’s Children, it is no longer a question of God speaking His Word on that challenge or situation.

The question is, what have you done with the Word of God that has already come to you? Are you adhering to, trusting in and relying on that Word? Or do you discard the Word of God as it comes to you!

Do not miss out on the timing of God.

He is not confined by the show of our religion, or how much we cry, shout or speak in tongues over that situation. Be attentive in the Spirit, Believe in the Word of God, and the precious value of the Word will be accorded you!

DECLARATION
I receive the preciousness of the Word of God in my life. I am attentive to the timing of God’s Spirit.
