Ambassadors Diet Headlines

Friday daily devotional by Pastor David Okoye (Ambassadors Word Diet, 11th May 2018) – Laugh!

Share this story:

The kings of the earth take their places; the rulers take counsel together against the Lord, and His Anointed One (the Messiah, the Christ). They say, Let us break Their bands [of restraint] asunder, and cast their cords [of control] from us. Psalms 2:2-3 AMP

The preceding verse of our text refers to verses 2 and 3 as vain imaginations. It is indeed vain/useless to take counsel or set one’s self against the LORD. Amazingly and unfortunately, there are evil men that make plans against God and His people.

The Bible refers to such plans as useless – and God laughs at them. Even though laughing at that moment is inconsistent with the plain dictates of common sense; the Lord sits in heaven, well relaxed and laughs at the enemy rather than challenge him.

Verse 4 says,

He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.

The word ‘derision’ means ‘an unkind (mocking) laughter that shows you think somebody is ridiculous and not worth considering seriously’.

The plans of the enemy are not worth fretting or worrying over, because it will come to nothing. Glory to God! When you seem surrounded by evil people and counsels, don’t get scared or agitated. You are part of the body of Christ – jointly fitted with the Anointed One. You are anointed.

If the plans against God can’t come to fruition, it invariably means that plans against you (His anointed) will come to nothing. Oh! – if the devil had known this, he wouldn’t have killed Jesus. He didn’t know that he helped to fulfil God’s plan.

Don’t give the devil more power than he has. The devil capitalizes on the fear of the believer and has no power over you except you give him that power. Take up your Father’s nature in every situation.

Always have the mindset that the devil works to your advantage. Confuse your enemies by laughing them to scorn and declaring faith-filled words. Take a moment and laugh at the devil today!

I cannot be disadvantaged. All things are working together for my good. I laugh daily knowing that no weapon formed against me shall prosper.
