And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; and to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness charity. 2 Peter 1:6-7

When faith is established in the life of a man, it leaves a zeal, passion, and a conviction in his heart.

Yesterday, we saw that having faith alone doesn’t cut it. God requires you to add certain things to your faith for it to produce tremendously.

The previous verse of our opening verse today makes us understand that you ought to add diligence, virtue, and knowledge to your faith.

You see, there are two kinds of knowledge you add to your faith.

They are; knowledge by planning or structuring, and knowledge by experience(s). Some persons say, ‘Experience is the best teacher’. This is a lie as experience is not the best teacher- the Holy Ghost is. However, experience is a great teacher.

God requires you to learn from experiences.

Not necessarily your experience; but the experience of those who are/were involved in the vision you possess. The next thing you ought to add to your faith is TEMPERANCE and PATIENCE. These two-work hand-in-hand.

Temperance means you shouldn’t get upset when things don’t work out according to your plan. It means not involving your emotions in such a way that it drives you away from the actualization of that vision in your heart.

Patience requires you to be composed and not bothered with having to wait for the actualization of the vision.

An impatient man would lose his temper in the process of waiting. Adding these two to your faith would make you keep going.

Temperance and patience helps checkmate pride. Pride makes one accept the success without the works. That is, you accept the end result without accepting the process.

You’ve got to also add GODLINESS to your faith. This is where lots of believers lose it. They let the results they are getting lead them to the wrong path. Your success ought to drive you closer to God.

Choose to love men the way God loves you. You can’t subtract love from the expression of the God-life. If you miss these two, your success would be contaminated.

I am neither barren, nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord. I add all these to my faith; therefore I’m productive.
