Masked gun-wielding soldiers (armed to the teeth), have been patrolling the metropolis of Rivers state for some days now in a show of force ahead of the governorship election on Saturday, March 9th.
The growing military presence in the state is to make sure the election on Saturday is peaceful as Rivers state is known to be brutal during elections.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of trying to militarize the state in order to ‘easily manipulate the outcome of the governorship election to their favour’.
The latest show of force which happened on Friday is coming days after soldiers were caught on camera while raiding some night clubs/joints in Port-Harcourt during their patrol.
