Ambassadors Diet Daily Devotional, Tuesday 26 March – Committed at all cost by Pastor David Okoye
“Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will fast likewise; and so will I go in unto the king, which [is] not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish.” Esther 4:16
Your commitment to God is not just seen in how long you pray or in how much of the word you study, it is seen in the steps and decisions you take in the face of compromising circumstances.
Queen Esther was faced with a life threatening situation, to do something that was against the law, of which penalty was death. She never deterred in her decision of which she boldly declared “If I perish, I perish”. That is a statement of boldness mixed with conviction.
This scenario can also be likened to that of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, the three Israelites who chase the fiery furnace rather than bowing down to an idol, just to maintain their stand with God.
Paul at a time declared to the Philippines while in prison saying “for me to live is Christ, and to die is gain“Philippians 1:21. It was obvious Paul understood what commitment was, and not giving room for any form of compromise.
Learn not to compromise your faith in God; it’s a conscious choice you have to make, If you stand for God, He will stand for you, and if God be for you, no one can be against you.
I am committed at all cost to God and all that pertains to him. I refuse to compromise my faith irrespective of situations.
2 Timothy 1:8, Philippians 1:21
