Undisclosed persons in Lafia, Nasarawa State, have murdered an official of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Mr. Dennis Onoja on Thursday, May 30.
Spokesperson of the State Police Command, Usman Samaila, has confirmed the report. In his statement he said, “the incident happened early hours of Wednesday May 29 at Onoja’s residence in Tundun-Kauri axis of Lafia metropolis.”
The incident occurred during a heavy downpour while the victim’s power generating set was on which made it impossible for his neighbors to know what was happening.1
According to Samaila, one of his neighbors had gone to Onoja’s residence to charge the battery of his mobile phone when he saw the victims lifeless body in his room.
The PPRO further said that the neighbor had knocked on the door repeatedly without any response. Then he peeped through the window and saw the victim in the pool of his blood.
He quickly alerted the victim’s colleagues who came to the scene and reported to the police.
