Andy Ruiz Jr has claimed four big-name heavyweights could be target opponents for his upcoming comeback.
The former heavyweight world champion, who won and lost his belts against Anthony Joshua last year, is starting to think about fighting again after spending six weeks away from the sport.
Ruiz Jr has split from trainer Manny Robles and is reported to be considering a trial period with strict coach Teddy Atlas as he prepares to begin the pursuit of becoming a two-time champion.
As for potential opponents, Ruiz Jr told Dank City: “There’s a lot out there. There’s Tyson Fury, there’s Deontay Wilder, there’s Dillian Whyte, there’s Joseph Parker.
“There’s a lot out there, but I’ll fight anybody. Probably Wilder or Fury [fits best] one of those tall guys, you know.”
Whyte’s team has already been in contact with Ruiz Jr, making offers for a potential fight in the US or UK.
Parker holds a win over the 30-year-old from 2016 and has previously declared his willingness for a rematch.
Meanwhile, Fury and Wilder are set to face each other on February 22, with a trilogy likely to follow.
Ruiz came in for plenty of criticism after weighing in at over 20 stones for the rematch defeat to AJ.
The Mexican-American admitted he didn’t prepare properly for the bout and has now said: “There’s always gonna be haters, there’s always gonna be doubters. They’re gonna see.
“They’re gonna see a new Andy that’s gonna be focussed.
“The same Andy that became the first Mexican heavyweight champion of the world on June 1, even better than that.”
