Abia Warriors goalkeeper, Charles Tambe was shot by hoodlums in Ibadan on Friday.
The Umuahia based shot-stopper has been rushed to University College Hospital for medical attention.
In a statement by the club’s Sporting Director, Patrick Ngwaogu, he said there should be no panic as the club is on top of the situation adding that the goalkeeper will be released as soon as he is treated and regain fitness.

According to Patrick, the player was observing his morning walkout at 7:00 am on Friday morning in the Apata area of Ibadan where he stays with his family during the break.
The hoodlums approached and collected his wristwatch, phone and shot him in the hand.
