On Friday, the Super Eagles concluded their tour of the United States of America with another loss against Ecuador 1-0 at the 25,000–capacity Red Bull Arena in Harrison, New Jersey.
It was another loss for the Super Eagles’ new coach José Santos Peseiro in his second game in charge.
A three minutes early goal by Pervis Estupiñán was enough for the Ecuadorians to win against the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
Nigeria had lost 2-1 to Mexico a few days ago in Dallas, Peseiro’s first game in charge.
They will now be heading straight to Abuja for the 2023 AFCON qualifiers match against the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone.
The match will take place at the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja on June 9.
