Charles Idahosa, representing South-South on the PDP Board of Trustees, has officially stepped down from his roles within the party in Edo State.
In a heartfelt letter addressed to the PDP Ward 1 Chairman in Ehor, Uhunmwode Local Government Area, Idahosa, he expressed his gratitude for the support and camaraderie he experienced during his time of service.
Charles Idahosa expresses his gratitude
“After much reflection and contemplation, I’ve decided to explore new paths and opportunities beyond the confines of the party,” Idahosa stated.
“I’ve been fortunate to contribute to the PDP’s vision and mission, but now is the time for a fresh journey.”
Idahosa’s political journey has been notable, having served as a Special Adviser on Political Matters to former Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole. His departure from the APC to the PDP marked a significant shift, though he later became critical of Governor Obaseki’s administration.
Looking ahead to the Edo State gubernatorial election, Idahosa emphasized the importance of a “homeboy” candidate, signalling a departure from the incumbent’s preferred successor.
His resignation adds to a series of departures from the PDP, with several key figures switching allegiance in anticipation of the upcoming elections.
